Trip to Denver and SOS from the Colorado point of View

I had a wonderful time in Denver with the Petersons! We went to The Denver Museum of Nature and Science. We didn't go through and look at everything because we thought we only had about 2 1/2 hours, but they showed me some very nice and interesting things!
Here's the link to the pictures I took while there.
https://picasaweb.google.com/maidservantlattin/VisitWithKatieDale?authkey=Gv1sRgCJCozPPMz678ag# We had left the museum and were heading back to the prison to meet my ride back home, when my phone rang; it was one of the ladies asking if I wanted to stay longer! They had somehow miscalculated the number of people that would need to ride back in the big van, and the small van needed to stay for several hours longer. So we went to the Peterson residence, then we walked over to the school to fetch their 2 boys. When we got back to the house we just sat around and talked! We also called Mama and made her jealous because she wasn't able to be with us! :) Anyway I had a good time, and felt very blessed by the extended visit.
It was kind of hard to be here for SOS. I knew that everyone was up there having fun and working hard, and getting stressed, and some of them not feeling well, and seeing all our friends, and I wasn't able to be a part of that or help with anything! However, I was able to pray, and also had opportunities to ask others to pray too. I know that it made a difference, I'll just have to wait to hear what the difference was. I might even need to wait until I get to heaven, but I know that God heard us, and I hope it was a blessing to those that were involved in everything to know that we were praying!
I don't really feel like I have much to add here, it's hard to think of what might interest you when it's just "life as usual" for me! If you would leave comments and ask questions it would help! :)

Animals of Colorado

I decided to write about the animals I've seen. This won't be a long post because it's getting late, but I hope it's interesting! I've seen rabbits, a prairie dog, at least that's what they said it was, mule deer, and antelope. I've also seen several kinds of cacti, there are some pics of the cacti on my picasa account. https://picasaweb.google.com/maidservantlattin/SceneryEtc?authkey=Gv1sRgCKzD9onjhOG0Xw#
I had a really good time with Charity, and I'm planning to work on Monday again so that I can go to Denver on Wednesday and meet some friends I haven't seen in about 17 years! I'll let you know about it when I get time. :)

Valentine's Day

I worked today so that I can have Wednesday off. Charity Troyer and I wanted to spend some time together, and she ahd off on Wed. so I just asked to switch my day off to be with her. It's easier for the thrift store worker to switch days like that than it is for the nannies. Anyway, I expect to have a good time with her, but it doesn't leave me much time to write, so I''l say good-by for now. May the Lord bless you!

Greetings!

I've been in CO for almost a month now! It really doesn't seem quite that long yet, but that's what the calender says. :) I am finally feeling a bit more settled in. I work in the Pueblo thrift store in the "shoe department". The shoe department includes shoes, purses/backpacks/bags, ties, belts, socks, hats, and scarves. It's interesting to see all the different shoes and purses that people like, and also how mu8ch they are willing to pay for a "good" brand if it's new. :) We look things up on e-bay if we think it's worth more than the usual. I'm still not entirely comfortable setting prices for things, but I expect I'll get it figured out eventually. :)
I'm working on getting my part of our room decorated, it's nice to be able to "borrow" things from the store for that. We are allowed to bring things home for decorative purposes and we don't have to pay for them as long as we return them when we leave. I'm also really enjoying the photographs that a friend sent of the North Shore, it's wonderful to have a bit of home here! The pictures are very good ones and came in beautiful frames!

A view from my bed

I really like all the girls in this house, they have all been very welcoming and friendly. My roommate's name is Irene, and we get along quite well. She is nice, and outgoing which makes it easy to talk with her. :) I don't have a picture of any of my friends here yet but I hope to before too long. Here are a few more pics taken from my bed.

There are 11 girls staying in this house, and all but one work in the thrift stores. Kate is the dorm supervisor, and keeps the house clean, does the shopping, and prepares at least 3 or 4 meals a week, we fix for ourselves the rest of the time, she also has various meetings to attend and has to prepare a devotional for weekly household meetings. She has been very welcoming and is ready to talk at any time of the day, if we need someone to share with, or advise, or just a listening ear.
Here are the links to the ministries web sites for those of you who haven't seen them yet. http://www.newhorizonsthriftstores.com/ http://www.newhorizonsministries.net/
I hope this is informative for you, I really am glad to be a part of this ministry, and I know that God has me here for a reason. He is taking care of me, and His love is never-ending! We have been studying Psalm 91 in devotions at the store, and it's wonderful to learn more about the promises for protection that God has given us! He is so god to me and I don't deserve it! Only by the blood of the Lamb can I come before a Holy God! We have also been studying about holiness for the last several weeks. The book, Holiness - the Heart God Purifies (Nancy Leigh DeMoss), is very good. I have been blessed and challenged as I read, and I haven't even finished it yet!
Well I think that's all I have time for right now, I hope this is enough to satisfy everyone until next week, because I probably won't have time until then. :) Please ask questions, it will make it easier to find things to write about. It's hard to realize while you're living it what people want to know about your life. May the Lord bless you this week!

Here I am again!

Well, I guess I'd better write more, but it's my bedtime so you'll have to wait until Monday. :) Aren't I so nice? :)
